I think I have an edge at actors headshot photographs, not only because I'm a director of two feature films and a producer of three films but also a lighting cameraman (Guild of Television Cameramen).
On top of that I've also trained under one of the best beauty photographs this century, Albert Watson. I don't run a factory either, each headshot I take is given my full attention and I take the time to know my subject and their needs. I also take the time to clear up the 'here today and go tomorrow spots and blemishes' on the final selected headshots.
As you can see I have a very strong sense of compersition and an implicite understanding of both colour and Black & White, which means when a casting agent, director or producer is looking through a thousand headshot photographs I think I can give you the edge to stand out and be asked for an audition.
Another important part of my actor's headshot is that I give the actors contact sheets, in the old school tradition, which is included in the price.
This way their agents can mull over the images with their clients at their leasure and make sure they choose the right headshot, of coarse the contact sheets are in both colour and Black & White to cover all markets.
