From First Holy Communions, baptisms, birthday parties, children's parties, school events to business events.
I always look to create a story out of the event, which I can if you wish, turn into a beautifully crafted photobook.
I rarely use flash and look for the unexspected angle or composition.
I don't treat event photograph as a quick turn around but as an extention of my creativity.
As with my portraits, each image is cropped, colour graded and dodged & burned as neccessary to give you something special.
This means that typically on a two hour event I genarally spend about a day in post production.
I get great joy in seeing parents and children enjoy themself and I think this shows in my photographs.
I treat each new event as if its my first and maintain a very high personal quality.
I work a lot with churchs for First Holy Communions, baptisms, weddings and even funerals.
And always manage to find a beautiful spot which works well for portraits, which are all included in the costs.
Many of the events are turned in memento photobooks and all the photographs are not only delivered in high resolution including in the cost but on a baeautiful DVD with hand crafted cover.
If you wish the photographs will be uploaded to my own password protected website or PhotoBox, whichever is easiest for you and your family to see the precious event.
Where I do have to use flash for portrarts, I was trained by one of the best beauty photographs this centrury, Albert Watson, and I can set up a stunning portrait light in seconds.
Many of my jobs are for repeate customers who go on to book my services for parties, portarits and christening.

The portrait below was captured at the client's home, the minute we all returned from the christening, it took less that 60 seconds to setup.
It was also the smallest event I've covered, 8 people.

Fees: As I have said before I always charge a very resonable one off fee for my services and then present you with the high resolution images completely free of any other charges, to use personally as you feel fit to. This means that you know the total cost from the start and if you want to make a 100 'Thank you' cards or get a 1,000 prints, it will always cost you only the cost of the printing, there is no additional charge from me. For small children's birthday parties I usually charge £175, for bigger events like baptisms and adult parties I charge £250, as ever this includes my usual post production and colour matching on the photographs and a presentation DVD full of highest resolution masters with all personal usage rights. If you would like a specially crafted photobook of the event I charge £100 to make and set up, which includes one hard bound and slip case copy, plus additional copies orderable at cost from PhotoBox. For events like First Holy Communions, where maybe 60 children are taking part, then I work on a pre-order basis before the event which usually works out at approx. £30 a family. I can also now offer to record staged event on video, using multiple 'wide screen' video cameras. This means that instead of a single shot video of the event, which most companies do, you will end up with a beautiful presentation DVD with titles and credits which will cut between a wide shot of the whole event to multiple close ups of the performers. With my film-making history, you know you will end up with a truly professional product. For your information, I have had a CRB Check to work with children, I have been trained in paediatric first aid and I am fully insured. |
