I cover ballet productions, as per below, live session as these are and more formal staged ballet or dance photographs.
These were taken for La Sylvaine School of Dance to update their web site and for the parents.
As with all my work with children, I came in a little before the class started and acting silly got to know the children.
I then spent most of the time scooting around on my bum, at the same level as the children.
The portrait below was not posed but taken with a long lens about 10 feet away.
I love picking up little gems of the child's character.
The photographs below are again for La Sylvaine School of Dance and are of their yearly charity show.
These have over 120 dancers split between traditional ballet and modern dance.
It's a great show to watch and must take months and months to organize.
I like photographing from the same level as the dancers, rather than above as it makes the viewer feel like they are part of the performance.
This is just a minute selection of over a 1,000 photographs taken of the 13 different dance sequences.
Which were are presented to the parents on one of my beautifully crafted DVD's, whose cover is below.
Fees: For large events like the show above I would I usually charge £250 and this includes, photographing the rehearsal, my usual post production and colour matching on the photographs and a presentation DVD, as above, of full resolution masters with all usage rights. If any of the photographs are used in magazine adverts, then I do require a credit. You are free to give these photographs to the parents but may not resell them otherwise as I retain all copyright. I will also consider shooting the event for free to the school and relying on parent orders after the event but this depends on the scale of the event, please email me to discuss this option. I can also now offer to record staged event on video, using multiple 'wide screen' video cameras. This means that instead of a single shot video of the event, which most companies do, you will end up with a beautiful presentation DVD with titles and credits which will cut between a wide shot of the whole event to multiple close ups of the performers. With my film-making history, you know you will end up with a truly professional product. For your information, I have had a CRB Check to work with children, I have been trained in paediatric first aid and I am fully insured. |
